During many of our long car rides home late at night, when I
finally get off of work, my son shares funny or lame videos with me to pass
time. I say lame because really, only a 16 year old can appreciate the type of
humor on most of these videos. My assumption has always been that he found them
on Facebook or YouTube. I was wrong,
yesterday I finally asked him where he was finding all of these videos. Vine,
was his answer. And of course, being
limited by work and time, I had no idea what he was talking about. I asked my
husband and he said the he watches Vine videos as well, maybe it’s a guy thing?
Needless to say, I finally went to the Vine website which is classified as yet
another social media website. To me it is like a version of Instagram, with
videos instead of photos. Browsing through the website, I realized that there
is a larger percentage of teen users and not all of the content is funny, some
is actually a bit too mature for that age group. So today I learned about Vine and I also
learned a little more about what teenagers are doing in their spare time.
